Are you looking for a great future by taking care of your spine (Three Joint Complex)?  Do you have sufficient knowledge to take care of your Three Joint Complex (Spine)?

The disc and two facet joints make up the Three Joint Complex.  The center of axial rotation (φy) for the disc and two facet joints is close to the center of the disc, furthermore it maintains a symmetrical weight distribution.  This center about which the vertebrae rotates will change positon when there is motion restriction (fixation dysfunction), ligamentous laxity, or rupture due to trauma and adhesions in portions of the disc or facet joints.  The changed axis causes an asymmetrical load distribution on the joints of the functional spinal unit.  The problem on the Three Joint Complex (Spine) starts with asymmetrical weight distribution due to the motion restriction (Fixation Dysfunction) and adhesions in portion of the disc or the facet joints.

This asymmetrical loading puts the individual susceptible to continued re-injury when the spine is loaded during daily activities.  Additionally, the lack of proper movement of the Three Joint Complex and unequal weight distribution during loading and unloading causes damage to the intervertebral disc and posterior facet joints.

In conclusion, Chiropractic care performed by a Doctor of Chiropractic maintains wellness of the Three Joint Complex (Spine) by finding the fixated part of the spine and adjusting that part.  Chiropractic adjustment performed on the fixated unit prevents motion restriction and adhesion formation.  Chiropractic care creates proper motion of the spinal unit, therefore, maintaining center of axial rotation and symmetrical weight distribution.
